Diesel cars and black smoke?

It's not the downpipe's fault...

(read it even if you have a petrol car, because it is also useful for you)

auto diesel e fumo nero

As a manufacturer of downpipes, we sell our exhausts all over the world and ONLY in Italy, only Italians ask for downpipes for diesel with 200 cell catalyst.
The need and the request stems from a "legend" that has established itself within the collective imagination (mainly Italian) and would serve in theory to avoid the dreaded BLACK SMOKE at the exhaust.
It's incredible how this belief has taken root and lives on thanks to forums, FB groups and general ignorance (because the topic is ignored, at all levels, including mechanics).
Removing the FAP by installing a free Donwpipe (as they do in the rest of the world), does not create any type of SMOKE on a diesel car (just like on a petrol car).

But then why are there (recent) cars that make clouds of black smoke?

The answer is simple.
They installed in downpipe, true, but with a map made by dogs.
Now, it is likely that Sunday mechanics and engineers will arise under this writing, but unfortunately, like it or not, this is the reality.
Who knows how to map a car WELL is a "kissed by lord".
Of course they are joking, but it is to make you understand that these are rare people.
"Beppino u megganich" is not suitable for these jobs, the brother-in-law of your brother's friend, who modifies all the cars in the town, may not be able to do this job (well).
Most of these people simply buy (at best) the maps off-the-shelf and then fit them into the car they have in their hands.
Broadly speaking, as a basic reasoning it can also work, but the effects are the same as for an add-on module of medium/low quality.
Let's say on a stock car they may be 80% fine.
But when you install a downpipe it may not be the most suitable map.
Now, joking aside, you have to understand that whoever maps a car well gets paid handsomely.
And it ONLY does this job.
You can't find him doing coupons, brake pads and in downtime tuning the exhausted Abarths.
Just as we are experts in a SINGLE component (the downpipe for BMW), these highly qualified people are experts in a SINGLE service.
When the maps are done to perfection on the car in question (yours), there is no exhaust smoke, even on diesel cars, and in the case of cars and petrol, there are no odors or "unbearable" stench .
Because combustion is perfectly calibrated, regardless of the exhaust system.
This does not mean that rose petals will come out of the exhaust, but from here to having a car that resembles a Grandi Navi Veloci ferry leaving the port, it passes.
A free InoxPower DownPipe allows you to achieve better performance, save money compared to a 200 cell and forget about DPF regenerations.
And in combination with a well-made map it won't give any problems in terms of smoke and exhaust odors.
